The Scud is a very good boat that is more suited to intermediate level paddlers who may be expecting to paddle in rivers ranging from grade 1 up to grade 4. This boat is a relatively high volume design that boasts excellent stability in rough water. The sharp bow and tail causes this boat to track well through eddies or with the wind blowing side on. To turn, this boat needs nothing more than a gentle lean to change course instantly. This boat is still very competetive for the advanced paddler, but the excellent stability makes it more favoured by the intermediate paddlers. Features include: excellent cutaways in the foredeck for close paddle entry, medium volume bow, good stability in hull, stopwatch/gps mounts in front of cockpit, deckloops laminated into boat for added strength. |
